In today’s tutorial, we are going to discover how to create asparagus drawing on paper. The size of each part will be pointed out in each step of the lesson. Take notice that the blue outlines have been drawn to show the new lines being drawn in each in each of the steps.
Time Needed: 20 minutes
-
Draw The First Batch Of Asparagus
Asparagus stalks are long and skinny, sometimes referred to as “spears”. With your pencil draw tall, vertical lines close to each other and make the top pointy.
-
Add More Stems
Draw more stems on both sides. Asparagus usually come bundled together.
-
Draw Tallest Stems & Crowns
Then, we are going to add more top parts of asparagus behind the stems we drew. The pointed tops of each asparagus are known as “crowns”.
-
Add Scale Leaves
Now, we are going to add some small, triangular details and lines on each stalk. Each asparagus has small leaves known as “scales” that detail each spear.
-
Draw The String
Finally complete the linework of your asparagus drawing by drawing a string or band to hold each asparagus spear in place as one neat bundle!
-
Color Your Drawing
Now it is time to color our asparagus with mostly greens and yellow-green colors.
