Origins of the Cheshire Cat
The image of the Cheshire Cat has been portrayed throughout literature and in modern times.
This theme of a grinning cat was largely popularized by the famous book, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by author Lewis Carroll. This perplexing little creature communicates with Alice throughout her bizarre adventures in the story.
The cheshire cat is always shown smiling and typically has a pattern of stripes on its fur. The cheshire cat is even colored purple in the animated Disney version.
