Cute Christmas Elf Drawing

This lesson will teach you how to draw a cute Christmas elf. We will draw attention to the shapes of each part and types of contours drawn ensuring that the artwork looks right.

Time Needed: 30 minutes

1. Draw The Face

   

   Start by drawing two circles for the eyes. Next, add a small curved line for the nose. Then, draw a crescent shape with small curved lines on both ends to form the cute elf’s jolly smile!

2. Form The Head

   

   Next, outline the shape of the elf’s head as shown. Attach the pointed ears on both sides of the head. Don’t forget to draw the hair!

3. Add The Elf Hat

   

   Now, draw a curving rectangular shape to form the base of the elf’s hat. Next, form the top part of the hat similar to the illustration. Then. draw a small circle at the tip of the hat.

4. Draw The Torso

   

   First, draw a zigzag shape for the collar. Then, outline the shape of the torso as shown.

5. Add The Belt And Suspenders

   

   Now, draw vertical lines to form the suspenders. Next, outline the belt by drawing curving horizontal lines. Add the buckle of the belt by drawing four vertical lines in the middle.

6. Outline The Shorts

   

   Outline the shape of the elf’s shorts below its torso.

7. Attach The Arms

   

   Now, draw the curving shape of the elf’s arms attached to both sides of its torso. Next, add the pointy cuffs. Then, draw the circular outline of the hands.

8. Draw The Legs

   

   Start by drawing vertical lines to outline the legs. Add the striped pattern by drawing curving horizontal lines. Then, form the shape of its pointed shoes similar to the illustration.

9. Complete The Drawing Of A Cute Christmas Elf

   

   Let’s give life to our cute Christmas elf by adding some color! First, use a white crayon to color the base and tip of the elf’s hat, as well as the collar and cuffs on its clothes. Next, use a yellow crayon to shade the hair and buckle. Now, fill the elf’s eyes and belt strap with a black crayon. Then, use a brown crayon to color its suspenders and pointy shoes. Shade the elf’s head and hands using a peach crayon. Don’t forget to color the inside of its mouth with a dark red crayon. Finally, use red and white crayons to shade the elf’s stockings.
