In this step by step lesson, we will learn to draw Christmas tree with your drawing materials. Pay attention to the different sizes and shapes within the artwork of the Christmas tree. The new lines in each step is drawn out in blue so you can plainly see the current components that you should be drawing.

Form The Star
First, let’s form the star-shaped decoration with a triangle attached to the bottom.

Draw The Topmost Layer Of Needles
Now, draw a pointy triangular shape below the star decoration.

Add Another Layer Of Needles
Next, add another layer of the Christmas tree’s branches and needles by drawing a bigger pointy shape similar to the previous step.

Draw More Branches
Let’s add a bigger layer of branches and needles to make our Christmas tree taller!

Form The Bottom Layer Of The Christmas Tree
Now, form the bottommost layer of needles by drawing the spiky shape similar to the previous steps. Then, add the tree’s trunk attached to the bottom.

Hang Candy Canes
First, draw the J-shaped outline of the candy canes. Then, add diagonal lines to form their striped pattern.

Add Christmas Bulbs
A Christmas tree won’t be complete without bulbs! Let’s draw circles on the tree to add the Christmas bulbs. Don’t forget to erase parts of the tree’s branches that overlap with the bulbs.

Draw The Garland
Form a wavy diagonal shape wrapped around the tree to draw the garland. Erase parts of the branches that overlap with the garland.

Complete The Christmas Tree Drawing
Let’s complete our drawing of a Christmas tree by adding some color! First, use a yellow crayon to color the star decoration. Next, fill the candy canes with red and white crayons. Now, shade the garland with a red crayon. Then, color the needles of the Christmas tree with a green crayon and its woody trunk with a brown crayon. Finally, shade the bulbs with different colors like pink, blue and orange.
