About Coconuts
The coconut is an important ingredient in many recipes. It can also be eaten raw, shredded, grated or blended. It has many health benefits and it’s delicious too!
Coconuts are a fruit from a tropical palm tree and grow in the tropics and subtropics around the world, such as India, Indonesia, or Brazil.
The coconut is a versatile fruit – you can drink the water, milk or eat its flesh. You can also use it to make oil or flour for cooking.
Coconut water and coconut milk are two different things. The fat content is higher (15-20%), but the sugar content is low. This makes it perfect for use in dishes like curries, where its rich flavor adds depth to the taste. It can also be used to make coconut cream.
