Materials

In this lesson, we will begin with a new piece of paper and learn how to draw a beaver in a series of 9 steps. It is best to proportion out the proportions of each of the drawn parts of the beaver.
Time Needed: 30 minutes

Draw The Eyes
Draw the beaver’s eyes by creating two ovals.

Add The Nose And Mouth
Add the nose by making a rounded shape. Next, draw two lines curving upward attached to the bottom of the nose. Then, draw teeth by forming two rectangular shapes.

Form The Shape Of The Head
First, outline the shape of the head then draw the ears by making a bumpy shape.

Add The Limbs
Add the limbs by drawing two curved lines as shown.

Draw The Body
Draw the beaver’s body by forming the rounded wavy shape as shown. Don’t forget to draw the hind limb by extending a curved line from the outline of the body.

Attach The Tail
Draw the outline of the tail attached to the beaver’s body.

Draw The Texture Of The Tail
Draw the texture of the beaver’s tail by making a crisscross pattern.

Add The Paws
Add the beaver’s paws by drawing the shapes similar to the illustration. Make sure to draw the hind paws bigger and rounder,

Complete The Beaver Drawing
Let’s color the beaver drawing! First, use a brown crayon for the nose, claws, tail and inner part of the ears. Next, use a black crayon to fill in the eyes and add some shine to it using a white crayon. For the teeth, use a white crayon as well! Then, use an orange color to shade the fur.
