How to Draw a Cartoon Forest

Before you start your drawing, remember that there’s no rush! Taking your time is key to making something special. As you draw, pay close attention to how the different shapes relate to each other. This will help your forest scene come together beautifully. Just relax, have fun, and let your creativity come alive as you as you create your own cartoon forest!

Time Needed: 45 minutes

1. Draw the Mushrooms

   

   First, draw triangular-like mushroom caps with upright stems.

2. Add the Mushroom Spots

   

   Next, draw oval spots on the mushroom caps.

3. Draw the Log

   

   Now, create a long log on the ground. Add moss growing on top. Then, draw short lines along the log to create a woody texture.

4. Add the Snail

   

   Draw the snail’s shell and outline the snail’s head on top of the log.

5. Draw the Rock

   

   Next, draw a large rock with moss on top.

6. Form the Foliage

   

   Create a leafy plant in the foreground. Now, draw tall grass all over the forest floor. Then, add a bumpy outline in the background to draw bushes.

7. Draw the Trunks

   

   Draw straight lines to form tall tree trunks in the background using a ruler.

8. Add the Leaves

   

   Add bumpy leaves on top of the trees.

9. Color the Cartoon Forest Drawing

   

   First, use shades of green to color the bushes, grass, and plants. Next, color the snail shell red and use off-white for the snail’s head. Now, color the mushroom caps orange with white spots and cream-colored stems. After that, shade the log brown. Use light gray for the rock and light green for the moss. Then, color the tree trunks muted brown and the leaves dark green. Finally, color the sky blue.
