How To Draw A Lily: All Steps

The goal is to complete a drawing of a lily by creating one area at a time. This project will take 9 steps in total as we continue to create each area moving closer to the completed artwork. The finished drawing will be finished off with color resulting in a drawing you will want to share with friends!

Time Needed: 30 minutes

  1. Start The First Flower

    On the left side of the page, draw a flower shape with three pointed petals evenly spaced. In between each of those petals, draw three more pointed petals so that there are six in total.

  2. Draw The Middle Of The Flower

    In the middle of the flower, draw a few curved lines with ovals at the top.

  3. Draw The Second Flower’s Petal

    Next to the first flower, draw an upside down teardrop shape with two small bumps on the rounded end.

  4. Add Petals To The Second Flower

    Using two curved lines, make a sort of “V” shape above the first petal. Then add different curved lines on each end pointing towards the middle petal.

  5. Add More Petals

    Use curved lines to draw the final three petals of the second flower.

  6. Finish The Second Flower

    Add the middle to the second flower using curved lines and ovals at the ends.

  7. Draw The Stem

    Draw the stem of the two flowers that connects towards the bottom of the page.

  8. Add Leaves

    Draw some leaves on the stem of the flowers.

  9. Add Color

    Lilies can be all sorts of colors including pink, orange, white, yellow, and red.

Lily Flowers or Weeds?

Lily flowers are beautiful, delicate flowers that are really easy to grow. The flower itself is very small, and can have a white base. The petals themselves are not very significant, but are still pretty, and are typically the same color as the rest of the flower.

The flower itself looks like it is made out of glass, due to its translucent appearance. The color of the flower ranges from white to yellow, with the most common color being white.

The flowers are usually very fragrant, and they have a sweet smell. Lily flowers are also very delicate, and are easily damaged by many different factors.
