Peonies: A Living Artform
Why Peonies Are So Popular for Home Decorations
Peonies are known for their beauty and elegance. A common decoration in homes, peonies can also be used to accentuate the colors of a room or provide a light in the dark winter months.
A popular home design trend that uses peonies is “vintage chic.” This style emphasizes a home’s history and sentimental value with vintage furniture, wooden floors, and peonies.
Peonies in the Garden
The Peony has been a popular plant for the home decorator for centuries because of its beautiful blooms that are an iconic symbol of Spring.
The peonies grow best in temperate climates, making them a challenging but rewarding plant to grow. They are very sensitive to temperature changes, which is why they do not do well in the desert.
There are many varieties of peonies, each with a different bloom size and coloration. A popular variety is the Kordesii Peony with its light pink blooms, followed by the Grandiflora with its deep pink flowers and apricot blooms.
