In this lesson, we will begin with a blank piece of paper and learn how to draw a playful cat in 9 instructive steps. We will pay attention to the shape and size of each part of the playful cat.
Time Needed: 30 minutes

Draw The Head
Near the bottom right of the page, draw an oval for the head.

Add The Ears
This playful cat is going to be upside down on its back, so to make the head upside down, we have to draw the ears on the bottom.

Draw The Body Shape
Use a curved line to make this cat’s squishy body. The body will be above the head this time since he’s showing us his tummy.

Draw The Back Legs
Draw this cat’s back legs sticking up into the air.

Add The First Front Leg
Draw the first leg on the right side folded over.

Add The Second Front Leg
Draw this second leg reaching over the cat’s face with the underside of the paw showing.

Draw The Tail
Add in this playful cat’s tail.

Draw The Face
Give this cat a fun face. It may be easier to turn your paper upside down for this part so you can get the face just how you like it.

Add Color
Color in this cat the way that you think this playful kitty would look.
