Materials

By the end of this lesson we will arrive at a finished drawing of a reindeer by drawing one part at a time. The drawing will take 9 steps in total as we continue to draw each area moving closer to the completed artwork. The final work of art will be completed with color resulting in a artwork you will want to share with friends!

Draw The Head
First, outline the shape of the reindeer’s head. Next, create a shaded oval for the eye. Now, form a curved shape for the nose. Then, draw a curved line for the mouth.

Attach The Ear
Attach the reindeer’s ear by first outlining the shape. Then, form a line inside following the shape of the ear.

Form The Antlers
Form the branch-like shape of the reindeer’s antlers.

Add The Mane
Add the reindeer’s mane by drawing a bumpy shape below the head as shown.

Outline The Body
Outline the elongated shape of the reindeer’s body.

Draw The Legs
Draw the long, slender legs of the reindeer below its body. Don’t forget to outline the reindeer’s belly by drawing a horizontal line between the foreleg and hind leg.

Attach The Hooves
Attach the hooves at the end of the reindeer’s legs by forming the shapes as shown.

Add The Tail
Add the reindeer’s tail by making a pointy shape at the ride side of its body.

Complete The Reindeer Drawing
Let’s complete the reindeer drawing by first coloring the antlers with orange. Next, color the nose and hooves with a black crayon. Now, shade the reindeer’s mane, underbelly, tail and inner ear with a light brown crayon.
