In this article, we will begin with a blank piece of paper and learn how to draw a simple dinosaur in 6 instructive steps. We will notice the shape and size of each part of the simple dinosaur.
Time Needed: 20 minutes

Draw The Head
Draw a curved line to form the head.

Add The Face
Give our dinosaur a cute face! Draw two ovals to form the eyes. Next, add a line curving upwards to give it a nice, little smile. Add a small C-shape attached to the mouth to make it cuter!

Outline The Body
Outline the elongated shape to form the body of our dinosaur. Add a curving pointy shape at the end to give it a tail!

Attach The Legs
Draw four columnar shapes attached to the body of our simple dinosaur. Add small bumps at the bottom to form the toes on its feet. Don’t forget to erase parts of its body that overlap with its legs.

Add The Plates And Spikes
Draw a series of U-shaped lines along its back. Add spikes to its tail to protect itself from predators!

Complete The Simple Dinosaur Drawing
Finish our simple stegosaurus drawing by giving it color! First use a red crayon to fill in the plates on its back. Then, use an orange crayon to color the spikes on its tail. Fill the eyes using a black crayon. Finish things off by shading the stegosaurus’ body with a yellow crayon.
