In this article, we will begin with a blank piece of paper and discover how to draw a sled in 9 instructive steps. It is best to pay attention to the shape and size of each of the drawn parts of the sled.

Form The Sled Deck
Form the sled deck by drawing a rectangular box.

Create The Sled Deck’s Texture
The sled deck is built using planks. To add the plank texture of the sled deck, let’s draw three diagonal lines.

Draw The Runners
Start forming the sled’s runners by first drawing two long rectangular shapes.

Form The Curved Tip Of The Runners
Now, form the curved tip of the runners by drawing rectangular-like boxes similar to the illustration.

Attach The Stanchions
Draw the shape of the stanchions attached to the bottom of the sled deck and on top of the runners.

Add The Bracing
Draw a cylinder attached to the runners to add the bracing.

Form A Tied Rope
Form a rope tied to the bracing of the sled by making a U-shaped outline.

Draw The Rest Of The Rope
Draw the rest of the rope by creating three long lines as shown.

Complete The Sled Drawing
Now, let’s add some color to our sled drawing! First, color the parts of the sled facing the left with a dark brown crayon. Next, shade the parts of the sled facing the right using a light orange crayon. Then, use an orange crayon to color the bracing and the parts of the sled facing upwards. Finally, use a red crayon to color the rope tied to the sled.
