How to Draw a Submarine
Kids can learn how to draw a submarine by following the demonstration images in this basic tutorial.

Materials
- Pencil
- Drawing Paper
- Crayons or Colored Pencils
- Black Marker (optional)

In this tutorial, we are going to learn how to draw a submarine with basic drawing tools. Be sure to observe the different sizes and shapes contained in the example drawing of the submarine. The pencil lines in each step is outlined in blue so you can plainly see the current parts that you will be drawing.

Form The Outer Hull
Draw an oval shape to form the outer hull of the submarine.

Add Portholes
Create three circles to draw the outline of the portholes. Now, make a smaller circle in each porthole as shown.

Draw Submarine Details
Let’s add details by making curved lines on the outer hull of the submarine.

Attach The Conning Tower
Attach the conning tower by creating an inverted U-shaped line.

Draw The Periscope
Draw the periscope lens by first forming an oval with an outer curved line. Next, draw the body of the periscope by creating two curved lines attached to the conning tower.

Now Add The Propeller
Now, add the propeller by making a small circle. Attach two elongated shapes to the top and bottom of the circle. Next, attach two short horizontal lines to the propeller and connect it to the submarine by drawing a boxy inverted C-shaped line.

Next Attach The Stabilizer Fins
Next, attach the stabilizer fins by forming the shape on the top and bottom of the submarine as shown. Don’t forget to draw a diagonal line on both fins to show the visible side of the fins.

Draw Bubbles
Draw bubbles by creating circles of different sizes above the submarine.

Complete The Submarine Drawing
Let’s complete the submarine drawing by first coloring the outer hull, stabilizer fins, and the body of the periscope with a yellow crayon. Next, shade the linings on the outer hull, conning tower, and the sides of the stabilizer fins with an orange crayon. Don’t forget to shade the outer part of the portholes and the periscope lens with an orange crayon. Let’s color the center of the propeller with a yellow crayon and shade the rest of the propeller with an orange crayon. Now, color the portholes, periscope lens and sonar dome at the front of the submarine with a blue crayon. Finally, fill in the bubbles with a dark blue crayon.
