By the end of this lesson we will complete a drawing of a surfboard by crafting one section at a time. This project will take 9 steps in total as we continue to draw each area moving closer to the completed artwork. The completed work of art will be topped off with color making it a drawing you will love!

Outline The Shape Of The Surfboard
Outline the shape of the surfboard by drawing the tall curved line as shown.

Draw The Side Of The Surfboard
Draw the visible side of the board by creating a curved line.

Attach The Thruster
Attach the set of three fins called the thruster on the surfboard by drawing three triangular shapes as shown.

Draw The Side Of The Fins
Draw the side of the fins by creating a curved line.

Outline The Stringer
Outline the stringer by creating a line at the middle of the surfboard from top to bottom. The stringer is a thin piece of wood that is built into the center of the surfboard and provides added strength to the board.

Draw The Background
Let’s draw the background of our surfboard drawing! First, create a long horizontal line at the center to draw the body of water. Now, make two long wavy horizontal lines to draw the sand. Next, draw short wavy horizontal lines on the body of water. Don’t forget to draw the sand on the base of the surfboard!

Add A Starfish
Add a starfish by drawing the five pointed shape as shown.

Design The Surfboard
Design the surfboard by creating wavy lines.

Complete The Surfboard Drawing
Complete the surfboard drawing by coloring the surfboard with green and orange crayons. Now, color the sand with a brown crayon. Next, color the sky and water with different shades of blue. Finally, fill in the starfish with a pink crayon.
