In this tutorial, we will start off with a blank piece of paper and discover how to draw a surfer girl in 9 instructive steps. It’s best if we pay attention to the shape and size of each of the drawn parts of the surfer girl.
Time Needed: 30 minutes
First Draw The Head
First, draw the head of the surfer by creating a U-shaped line. Attach the ears by drawing a small curve on both sides of the head. Next, outline the hair by forming a wavy shape similar to the illustration. Let’s draw the face by creating two dots for the eyes. Draw two short curved lines on top of the eyes to form the eyebrows. Make a small curved line on the center of the face to draw the nose then draw a crescent shape below it to draw the mouth.
Outline The Torso
Outline the torso by forming a shape similar to the drawing.
Draw The Bikini
Let’s draw the surfer girl’s bikini! First, create the bikini top by drawing a U-shaped line. Next, make a small curve beside the drawn U-shaped line. Now, form a line to draw the bottom edge of the bikini top. Then, draw the bikini bottom by making a horizontal line slightly curving upward.
Attach The Limbs
Attach the limbs by drawing long thin shapes as shown. Draw rounded bumps to form the hands and feet.
Draw The Surfboard
First, draw the outline of the surfboard by creating a long thin oval shape. Next, create a curved line following the shape of the surfboard. Then, draw the stringer of the surfboard by making a straight line.
Create Wave Crests
Create the whitewater filled crests of the waves by making bumpy shapes. Also draw the wake splashing around the surfboard as she rides!
Form Wall Of The Wave
Draw curved lines to form the curved wall of the wave.
Add some whitewater details to the bottom of the surfing wave by drawing a squiggly line.
Complete The Surfer Girl Drawing
Let’s finish the surfer girl drawing by coloring the surfer’s skin with a light brown crayon. Next, color her hair with a yellow crayon. Now, shade her bikini with a red crayon. Then, color the surfboard with yellow and red crayons. Let’s fill in the top of the water waves with a very light blue crayon and the wall of the wave with a darker blue crayon. Finally, shade the sky using a gradation of blue colors.
