Materials

By the end of this lesson we will arrive at a finished drawing of a turtleneck by crafting one area at a time. The drawing will take 9 steps in total as we continue to draw each part moving closer to the completed drawing. The finished artwork will be shaded with color resulting in a drawing you will be proud of!

Draw The Neckband
First, outline the shape of the neckband. Then, draw a curved line to form the opening.

Form The Body Of The Turtleneck
Next, form the rectangular shape of the turtleneck’s body.

Add The Sleeves
Add the elongated sleeves at the sides of the body. Make sure to form the ends of the sleeves slightly thinner.

Draw The Cuffs
Form the outline of the cuffs by drawing a curved line near the end of the sleeves.

Outline The Hem
Outline the hem by drawing a curving horizontal line near the bottom of the turtleneck’s body.

Add The Fabric Texture
Add some detail to the turtleneck by drawing evenly spaced lines along the cuffs, hem and neckband.

Draw The Trunk
Let’s draw a pine tree design on the turtleneck! First, draw the shape of the trunk.

Form The Pine Tree
Next, form the pointy outline of the pine tree to finish the design.

Complete The Turtleneck Drawing
Let’s now color our drawing of a cozy turtleneck! First, fill in the cuffs, hem and neckband with a dark green crayon. Next, color the pine tree design with a white crayon. Now, use a red crayon to fill in the sleeves. Then, shade the body of the turtleneck with a green crayon.
