How to Draw a Wolf (easy)
Kids will have a wonderful time learning how to draw an easy wolf in this fun drawing lesson.
There are 9 simple steps in total from start to finish to follow which includes the outlining of the wolf’s body parts and the shading in color. Also included is a printable version of this wolf drawing tutorial.
This basic animal drawing is perfect for art teachers and homeschoolers looking to teach kids how to draw a simple but anatomically correct wolf. It’s not quite cartoony and not filled with too many realistic details either!
Materials
- Pencil
- Drawing Paper
- Crayons or Colored Pencils
- Black Marker (optional)

In today’s basic drawing lesson, we will discover how to draw an easy wolf on paper. The design and proportion of each part will be considered in each step of the lesson. Note that the blue lines are used to show the new lines being drawn in each step.
Time Needed: 30 minutes

Draw The Eyes And Nose
Draw the eyes and nose of the wolf by first drawing two shaded ovals and a triangular shape.

Form The Muzzle
Form the muzzle of the wolf by drawing a curved line from the bottom of the nose and extending the line around the eye. Next, draw the chin by making a line curving upward.

Outline The Shape Of The Head
Outline the shape of the wolf’s head by drawing the line similar to the illustration. Don’t forget to draw the pointed bumps forming the ears and fur as shown.

Draw The Ears
Draw the inner part of the ears by making two triangles.

Add The Fur
Add the fluffy fur around the wolf’s mane by creating pointy lines.

Attach The Body
Attach the body by drawing a curvy oval shape.

Draw The Legs
Draw the wolf’s legs by forming the shapes as shown. Don’t forget to form the paws by adding a bump at the bottom of the legs. Lastly, draw two curved lines as shown on each paw to outline the toes.

Attach The Tail
Attach the tail by first forming the pointed shape and then drawing a zigzag line.

Complete The Wolf Drawing
Complete the wolf drawing by coloring the ears, around the eyes, muzzle and down to their mane with a white crayon. Shade the paws and the underside of the wolf’s belly and tail with a white crayon as well. Use a black crayon to color the nose. Finally, use a blue or darker gray crayon to shade the rest of the wolf’s fur.
