In this tutorial, we are going to learn how to draw cabbage with basic drawing tools. Pay attention to the different sizes and shapes of each part of the cabbage. The pencil lines in each step is drawn blue so you can plainly see the current shapes that you should be drawing.
Time Needed: 20 minutes
First Outline The Cabbage
Draw a huge circle near the middle of your paper. This will become the initial shape of the cabbage head.
Add Cabbage Leaves
Now we are going to add each layer of the cabbage’s leaves. Draw the first two below the circle.
Add Curved Leaf
Then, add a smaller leaf behind the first two. The leaves should be curved and drawn so they look like they are wrapped around the cabbage head.
Draw Final Leaves
Next, add more leaves surrounding the backside of the cabbage.
Add Wrinkles & Ribs
Add small stem-like lines to each leaf. Cabbage leaves have sturdy ribs near their centers with smaller wrinkles stemming out from each rib.
Shade Your Drawing
Cabbage can be grown in a variety of colors. Today I’ll be shading this cabbage with mostly green and yellow-green colors.
