Long Neck Dinosaur Drawing

We will arrive at a finished drawing of a long neck dinosaur by completing one area at a time. The drawing will take 6 steps to complete as we continue to draw each area moving closer to the completed work of art. The final drawing will be shaded with color creating a drawing you will love!

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Form The Head

   

   Form the oval outline of the long necked dinosaur similar to the illustration. Draw a curved line for its mouth. Then, add a small circle for its eye.

2. Outline The Body

   

   Start by drawing the sauropod‘s elongated neck. Next, form an oval shape for its body.

3. Attach The Legs

   

   Draw the columnar shape of the dinosaur’s legs attached to the bottom of its body. Next, create curved shapes at the end of its toes to form its claws. Don’t forget to erase parts of its body that overlap with the legs.

4. Draw The Tail

   

   Attach the long pointed shape of its tail at the end of its body.

5. Outline The Underside

   

   Draw two curving lines outlining the dinosaur’s underside as shown.

6. Complete The Drawing Of A Long Neck Dinosaur

   

   Let’s add some color to our drawing of a long neck dinosaur! First, use a black crayon to fill in the eye. Next, color the underbelly, underside of its tail and its claws with a yellow crayon. Then, shade the rest of the sauropod’s body using an orange crayon.
