Squirrel Drawing for Kids

This step by step lesson will teach you how to draw a squirrel. We will pay attention to the shapes of each part and types of lines created making sure that the drawing looks correct.

Draw The Eyes And Nose
Draw the eyes by creating two circles. Next, add the fur pattern above the eyes. Then, draw a rounded triangular shape for the nose.

Form The Head
Form the outline of the squirrel’s head. Next, draw two curved lines from the cheeks attached to the nose. Then, to add the mouth, draw a small line curving upward.

Add The Ears
Add the ears by drawing a curved line on each side of the head. Then, form the flap of the ears by making a wavy line.

Form The Body
Form the body by drawing an oval shape then adding a curved line at the center.

Draw The Hind Limbs
To create the hind limbs, draw a curved line, then attach the paw at the bottom. Draw the other paw as shown.

Start Forming The Forelimb
Let’s create the forelimb by drawing two lines curving upward, then attach the paw at the end of the limb.

Draw The Other Forelimb
Start by drawing the paw, then add two lines curving upward attached to the body as shown.

Attach The Tail
First, draw an elongated line forming a spiral at the end. Next, draw another elongated curved line below the first line, attached to the spiral.

Complete The Squirrel Drawing
Let’s give life to the squirrel drawing by adding some color! First, use a pink crayon for the ears. Next, use a very light shade of brown to color the lower part of the head, the belly, and the fur pattern surrounding the eyes. Now, use a brown crayon for the nose. Then, color the eyes with a black crayon and use a white crayon to add some highlights. Finally, use an orange crayon to shade the rest of the squirrel’s body.
