T-Rex Drawing (easy)
Kids will be engaged learning these simple steps to draw a T-Rex. Perfect for beginner artists with a liking of dinosaurs!
Grab some art supplies and follow along with these basic six drawing steps. You’ll learn the basics for drawing the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex, the most famous extinct predator from the dinosaur age!
This lesson only takes about 20 minutes and includes a pdf you can easily print or download. The pdf packet even contains a “coloring book” page with just the line art. This pairs well with crayons or colored pencils. It’s ideal for very young kids looking for some extra guidance and simply looking to fill in a T-Rex.

Materials
- Pencil
- Drawing Paper
- Crayons or Colored Pencils
- Black Marker (optional)

The goal is to arrive at a finished drawing of a t rex by tackling one part at a time. This project will take 6 steps to complete as we continue to create each part moving closer to the final drawing. The finished artwork will be finished off with color creating a artwork you will love!
Time Needed: 20 minutes

Form The Head
Draw the shape of the T-rex’s head similar to the illustration.

Draw The Face
Draw a small circle for the eye and a small dot for the nostril. Don’t forget to add a series of small V-shape lines inside its mouth to give our dinosaur some sharp teeth!

Outline The Body
Outline the body of our lizard king using an elongated shape. Don’t forget to form a point at the end of the shape to create its tail.

Attach The Arms
Attach short arms to the T-Rex’s torso. Make sure to form its sharp claws.

Add The Legs
Add the big and strong legs of our tyrant lizard. Don’t forget to draw its clawed feet.

Complete The T Rex Drawing
Let’s color our drawing of a Tyrannosaurus Rex! Use a black crayon to fill in the eye. Then, use a white crayon to color the sharp teeth of our dinosaur. Finally, shade the body with a red crayon and add stripes along its back using a darker shade of red.
