By the end of this lesson we will arrive at a finished drawing of a cartoon birthday party by completing one section at a time. This project will take 9 steps in total as we continue to make each section moving closer to the completed work of art. The completed artwork will be perfected with color resulting in a drawing you will want to share with friends!

Form The Birthday Cake
Start by drawing the icing on the top layer of the cake. Next, outline the cake’s shape with a cylinder. Now, draw the icing on the base layer with a slightly larger wavy shape. Then, outline the base layer of the cake with a bigger cylinder. Don’t forget to add some sprinkles using small rectangles.

Add The Cake Stand
Draw an oval below the cake to form the cake stand. Then, attach the base of the stand to the bottom of the oval.

Attach The Birthday Candles
Put three birthday candles on top of the cake. Outline the flames on the candles, and add some texture with evenly spaced horizontal lines. Remember to erase any extra lines.

Draw Birthday Presents
Now, draw three rectangular gift boxes next to the cake. Then, create ribbons on top of each gift similar to the illustration.

Add Patterns To The Gift Boxes
Decorate the gift boxes with stars, circles, and stripes to make them look even more exciting.

Outline The Table
Outline the table by drawing a long horizontal line.

Add Balloons
Add a cluster of round balloons on both sides of the drawing.

Create The Banner
First, form the curved outline of the banner. Add shorter curved lines to add the folds. Then, write “HAPPY BDAY” on the banner.

Let’s make your cartoon birthday party drawing lively! First, color the banner with yellow and the text with white. Use a creamy color for the cake’s icing, and brown and yellow for the cake layers.
