Materials
- Pencil

In today’s guided lesson, we will learn how to make a yak drawing on paper. The shape and proportion of each of the drawn parts will be considered in each step of the lesson. Observe that the blue lines are used to show the new lines being drawn in each step.
Time Needed: 30 minutes

Create The Snout
To form the yak’s snout, first draw an oval with two dots. Next, add a curved line below to draw the mouth.

Add The Eyes
Add two shaded ovals to draw the yak’s eyes.

Outline The Head
Draw a wavy diagonal line on each side of the yak’s snout to outline the shape of its head.

Add The Hair
Add the hair on top of the yak’s head by drawing a bumpy rounded shape.

Attach The Horns
Attach the curved and pointed shape of the yak’s horns on each side of its head.

Form The Ears
Form the pointed shape of the yak’s ears below the horns.

Outline The Body
Outline the shape of the yak’s body connected to its head. Emphasize its long hair using zigzag shapes on the bottom.

Attach The Legs
Draw the shape of the yak’s legs below its body as shown in the illustration.

Complete The Yak Drawing
Let’s add some color to our yak drawing! First, use a pink crayon to color its nose, mouth and inner ears. Next, shade its horns using a white crayon. Now, color the head, ears, and legs with a light brown crayon. Then, use a darker shade of brown to shade the hair on top of its head and around its body.
