Acrocanthosaurus Drawing

In this basic drawing tutorial, we will learn how to create an acrocanthosaurus drawing on paper. To look the best, we will observe the various sizes and shapes of each part of the acrocanthosaurus. The lines in each illustration is drawn in blue so you can observe the most recent shapes that you should be working on.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Draw The Head

   

   First, outline the acrocanthosaurus’ head. Next, draw a small circle for its eye. Now, add a dot for its nostril. Then, create small V-shaped lines inside its mouth to form its teeth.

2. Outline The Body

   

   Outline the oval shape of the acrocanthosaurus’ body. Then, form the pointy tail at the end of its body.

3. Form The Spines

   

   Form the spines of the dinosaur by drawing a spiky line along the top of its head, neck and back. Next, draw a vertical line connecting each point on its spines to the top of its body.

4. Attach The Legs

   

   Draw the shape of the acrocanthosaurus’ long legs attached to the bottom of its body. Then, form its sharp clawed toes.

5. Add The Arms

   

   Now, add the dinosaur’s small arms attached to its torso.

6. Complete The Acrocanthosaurus Drawing

   

   Let’s add some color to our drawing of the acrocanthosaurus! First, fill the eye with a black crayon. Next, color the teeth with a white crayon. Now, shade the spines with a dark red crayon. Then, color the dinosaur’s body with an orange crayon. Finally, shade the underbelly using a yellow crayon.
