In this how-to article, we will start off with a new piece of paper and discover how to draw an artichoke drawing in no time. We will pay attention to the shape and size of each part of the artichoke.

Create Initial Guideline
Draw an egg shape in the middle of your paper. We will use this shape to draw the rest of the artichoke parts.

Add The Outer Leaves
Add the bottom leaves to the artichoke. These outer leaves are called artichoke bracts.

Draw The Middle Leaves
Now, draw the middle part of the artichoke with curvy leaves like in the example.

Add The Top Leaves
Then draw the top leaves. The topmost leaves of an artichoke resemble flower petals and can even have thorns on their tips.

Draw The Stem
Draw the stem attached to the bottom of the artichoke.

Complete Your Drawing
Grab your coloring materials and color your drawing. Notice how I shaded parts of the artichoke leaves darker so they look 3D.
