Birthday Cat Drawing: All Steps

By the end of this lesson we will arrive at a finished drawing of a birthday cat by completing one part at a time. This project will take 9 steps to complete as we continue to create each part which will get us closer to the completed artwork. The completed drawing will be detailed with color resulting in a drawing you will love!

Time Needed: 30 minutes

  1. Draw The Head

    Draw the oval shape for the cat’s head. Next, add two circles for the eyes. Then, make a triangle for the nose, with a curved line for the mouth.

  2. Attach The Ears

    Attach the pointed ears on top of the head.

  3. Draw The Birthday Hat

    Create a triangular outline for the birthday hat. Add some patterns on the hat by drawing diagonal lines. Then, attach a fluffy round shape on top of the birthday hat.

  4. Add The Collar

    Draw a curved line from the head, with a circle for the collar.

  5. Attach The Front Legs

    Attach the elongated shape of the cat’s front legs to its head as shown.

  6. Draw The Gift Box

    Now, draw a rectangular box for the birthday cat’s gift box.

  7. Outline The Tail

    Outline the long, wavy tail of the cat. Make sure to erase any overlapping lines.

  8. Add Patterns To The Gift Box

    Next, draw the outline of the ribbon lines on the gift box. Then, form the paw print pattern to add some extra charm to the box.

  9. Complete The Birthday Cat Drawing

    Bring your birthday cat drawing into life by adding some color! First, fill in the eyes with a black crayon. Next, color the ears and nose with a pink crayon. Now, shade its fur with a cream colored crayon. Use a blue crayon for the collar, and a yellow crayon for its bell. Then, for the birthday hat, use red, yellow and pink crayons. Finally, use shades of blue for the gift box, and a red crayon for the ribbon.
