Materials

In today’s tutorial, we will discover how to create a bok choy drawing on paper. The shape and proportion of each of the drawn parts will be considered in each step of the lesson. Take notice that the blue lines have been drawn to indicate the new shapes being drawn in each step.
Time Needed: 20 minutes

Begin With The Stem
Draw the first two sections of the stem in the middle of your paper.

Add The Middle Stalk
Then, add more vertical lines in between the first two sections. The stem of a bok choy plant is made up of several stalks.

Start Drawing Leaves
Next, begin drawing the leaves on the stems, like in the artwork shown here.

Add More Leaves
Draw more leaves behind the first section.

Draw The Plant Veins
Add many sets of plant veins inside each bok choy leaf.

Complete Your Drawing
We can now begin to color our bok choy drawing with crayons or any coloring materials that you have available. Take notice how the root ends of the plant are shaded lighter in color compared to the leaves.
