In this basic drawing tutorial, we will discover how to draw a brown bat drawing on paper. To make sure it looks great, we will proportion out the different sizes and shapes of each part of the brown bat. The lines in each step is made of blue so you can observe the current elements that you should be creating.

Draw The Face
First, draw two ovals for the eyes. Next, create a curved oval shape with two dots for the nose. Then, attach two lines curving upwards to form the mouth. Draw a small curved line for the opening of the mouth.

Form The Head
Outline the head by forming a rounded shape with two thin curved shapes at the top for the flaps of the bat’s ears. For the inner part of the ears, draw two curved lines.

Attach The Body
Attach the body by forming an oval shape below the head.

Add The Legs
To add the legs, draw two pointy shapes similar to the illustration.

Draw The Arms
Form the arms by drawing two thin, pointed shapes. Then add a smaller pointed shape on each arm as shown.

Outline The Wing Membrane
Outline the wing membrane of the bat by attaching a pointy line from one end of the arm to the other. The wing membrane is what enables bats to fly!

Form The Fingers
Form the fingers of the bat by drawing lines connected to the pointy parts of the membrane.

Attach The Tail
To create the tail, draw a long V-shaped line attached to the body.

Complete The Brown Bat Drawing
Complete the brown bat drawing by adding some color! Use an orange crayon to color the bat’s head and body. Next, shade the wing membrane with a light brown crayon. Then, for the rest of the bat’s body, use a dark brown crayon.
