Materials

In this lesson, we will learn how to create a candy shop drawing on paper. To ensure the artwork is successful, we will proportion out the different sizes and shapes of each part of the candy shop. The drawn lines in each illustration is color-coded blue so you can see the most recent shapes that you should be creating.

Draw The Signage
First, draw a rectangular outline of the signage. Next, write the text “CANDY STORE” on the center of the signage.

Decorate The Signage With Sweets
Let’s decorate the candy shop’s signage with some sweets! First draw a lollipop by making a circle with a spiral. Next, attach the stick of the lollipop. Now, form an outline of a candy wrapper. Then, add small rounded candies to fill some of the empty spaces on the signage.

Outline The Roof And Walls
Outline the horizontal roof of the candy shop. Then, form the rectangular outline of the walls of the store.

Add The Door And Windows
Draw the rectangular outline of the door and windows. Add a vertical line in the middle of the door. Then, draw racks visible from the windows by forming horizontal lines as shown.

Draw A Cake
First, draw a thin rectangular base for the cake. Next, draw the outline of the cake. Form a wavy line to add some detail to the cake. Then, add some icing on top.

Add Cupcakes
Add two cupcakes on the bottom rack as shown in the illustration.

Form Jars
Form the outline of two jars on the racks visible on the left window.

Fill The Jars With Sweets
Fill the top jar with lollipops by drawing circles with a thin stick attached to them. Next, fill the bottom jar with J-shaped candy canes. Then, draw diagonal lines on the candy canes.

Complete The Candy Shop Drawing
Color the candy shop to complete the drawing! First, color the roof as well as the framing of the door and windows with an orange crayon. Next, fill the glass on the door and windows with a light blue crayon. Now, paint the walls of the candy shop with a light orange crayon. Paint the top part of the walls with a brown crayon. Then, fill the background of the signage with a white crayon. Use a yellow crayon to color the candy wrapper. For the lollipop, use pink and gray crayons. Finally, use vibrant colors like blue, green and pink to shade the candies on the signage.
