Materials
- Pencil

In this how-to article, we will start with a blank piece of paper and learn how to create a cougar drawing in a series of steps. It’s best if we pay attention to the proportions of each part of the cougar.
Time Needed: 30 minutes

Draw The Face
First, draw two shaded ovals for the eyes. Next, draw a heart shape for the nose. Now, create two rounded shapes connected to both sides of the nose. Form the bottom part of the mouth by making a line curving upward. Then, from the eyes, draw two vertical lines connected to the nose.

Add The Ears
Add the cougar’s ears by drawing triangles. Now, create a curved line on top of each triangle.

Outline The Head
Outline the shape of the cougar’s head as shown.

Outline The Body
Next, outline the curvy shape of the cougar’s body attached to its head.

Add The Legs
Add the cougar’s legs by drawing the shapes similar to the illustration. Don’t forget to form the paws on the bottom of each leg.

Form The Underbelly
Draw the cougar’s underbelly by making a curved line as shown.

Draw A Rock
Let’s add a rock for the cougar to stand on by creating a line curving downward.

Add The Tail
Draw the visible part of the cougar’s tail by making a diagonal line attached to its body as shown.

Complete The Cougar Drawing
Let’s add some color to our cougar drawing! First, use a dark brown crayon to color the ears and nose. Next, use a light brown crayon to fill in the mouth and underbelly. Now, shade the rest of the cougar with a brown crayon. Finally, color the rock with a gray crayon.
