Draw A Swimming Pool: All Steps

We will complete a drawing of a swimming pool by creating one section at a time. It will take 9 steps in total as we continue to create each part moving closer to the finished drawing. The completed drawing will be completed with color resulting in a artwork you will want to share with friends!

Time Needed: 30 minutes

  1. Draw The Coping

    Draw A Swimming Pool: Step 1

    Draw the border around the swimming pool called coping by forming two rounded shapes.

  2. Outline The Water

    Outline the surface of the water in the swimming pool by making a curved line.

  3. Add The Ladder

    Add the ladder by first forming the handrails using two inverted J-shapes. Then, draw the steps on the ladder by making four horizontal lines.

  4. Draw The Diving Board

    Draw the diving board by making a rectangular box.

  5. Form The Diving Board Ladder

    Form the diving board ladder by first drawing two vertical cylinders. Next, draw the steps of the ladder by making horizontal lines.

  6. Add A Pool Float

    Add a pool float by first forming a ring shape then draw its pattern by making curved lines. Then, add ripples in the water by drawing curved lines around the pool float.

  7. Add An Inflatable Flamingo Float

    Now, let’s add an inflatable flamingo float by first forming its outline and then drawing a wide oval shape in the center. Next, form the beak by making a curved line. Then, draw an eye by creating a small circle.

  8. Draw A Beach Ball

    Next, let’s draw a beach ball in the swimming pool by making a semi-circle. Next, draw a small circle and four lines on the beach ball. Then, draw ripples around the beach ball by making curved lines.

  9. Complete The Swimming Pool Drawing

    Let’s complete the swimming pool drawing by coloring the water with shades of blue. Next, color the inner walls of the swimming pool with a light blue crayon. Now, fill in the coping with a gray crayon. Use a blue crayon to shade the ladders and an orange crayon to color the diving board. After that, let’s color the inflatable flamingo float with pink and orange and the pool float with different vibrant colors as shown. Finally, let’s color the beach ball with red, white and orange.
