Draw Rake: All Steps

In today’s post, we will learn to draw a rake on paper. The shape and proportion of each part will be pointed out in each step of the lesson. Take notice that the blue pencil lines are used to indicate the current lines being drawn in each step.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Form The Handle

    Draw Rake: Step 1

    First, draw a long diagonal rod to form the handle of the rake.

  2. Draw The Ferrule

    Draw Rake: Step 2

    Next, draw a small cylinder attached to the handle to form the ferrule.

  3. Add The Head

    Draw Rake: Step 3

    Add the thin rectangular outline of the rake’s head.

  4. Attach The Tines

    Draw Rake: Step 4

    Attach thin pointed tines to the head of the rake.

  5. Form The Wooden Texture

    Draw Rake: Step 5

    Add a wooden texture to the handle of the rake by drawing short straight lines.

  6. Complete The Rake Drawing

    Let’s add a pop of color to our drawing of a rake! First, color the handle with a brown crayon. Then, shade the ferrule and head of the rake with a gray crayon.
