What are Haunted Houses?
A haunted house is generally seen as a piece of property or a home where something unpleasant may have happened in the past. These houses are said to be inhabited by malicious spirits and ghosts of people who have passed.

Haunted houses have been a prevalent belief around the world. Towns and cities usually have at least one place they consider haunted. The other-worldly phenomena that happen inside these homes are usually debunked by science. Despite this, it has always been a thrill that we as humans seek to get our blood pumping and our hearts racing.

Spine-chilling Haunted Houses
House of Death
A townhouse located in one of the busiest cities in the United States. The House of Death is said to be haunted by 22 ghosts of people said to have died within the walls of this home. Back in the 1900s, renowned author Mark Twain spent time in the house. It’s said his spirit returns now and then to visit.

Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast
The chilling story behind this haunted house dates back to 1892. Andrew and Abby Borden were killed with an axe. Police reports point to Andrew’s daughter, Lizzie as the number one suspect for the crime. She was ultimately absolved for the crime but spent her life drowning in guilt. Their house in Massachusetts is said to be haunted by Lizzie. Her laughs can be heard throughout the home.

The White House
Just because you’re the president, doesn’t mean you can’t be haunted! The White House is home to the United States’ highest official and to some very unnerving stories. Presidents and visitors have repeatedly reported seeing spectres or figures by the window. The ghost of Abraham Lincoln was even reported to have been sighted by British Priminister, Winston Churchill.

Haunted houses are truly great places to explore, especially when you want to feel alive! The irreplaceable, spine-tingling feeling that someone might be watching you inside these haunted houses can really keep one up at night.
