Amazing Falcons!

They are found all over the world and usually live in open areas with scattered trees.

In these areas, the birds will construct their nests from tree holes, as well as from natural ledges and cliffs.

Most species of falcon are dark brown or grey-colored with white, yellow and black spots and markings on the body.

Falcons are carnivores, their diet is based on small birds, rabbits, rodents and occasionally fish. Falcons have a hooked beak and aerodynamic body and strong talons. They are incredible hunters that hunt during the daytime. They fly incredibly fast and can catch their bird-prey right out of the air.

How fast is a falcon?

They are the fastest animal on earth and can fly at speeds over 200 miles per hour! It’s no wonder they can catch other birds right out of the sky! Their tapered wings allow for quick changes of direction while flying.
