Farm Drawing Easy: All Steps

In this lesson, we will start with a blank piece of paper and discover how to draw a simple farm drawing in a series of steps. We will pay attention to the proportions of each part of the farm.

Time Needed: 30 minutes

  1. First Form The Barn Roof

    First, form the thin curved shape of the barn’s roof.

  2. Outline The Barn Walls

    Next, draw the rectangular outline of the barn’s walls.

  3. Add The Door

    Now, form the rectangular door. Then, add X-shaped supporting beams on the door.

  4. Draw The Window

    Draw a rectangle to form the barn window.

  5. Next Add A Silo

    Start by drawing a tall cylinder. Next, attach a dome-shaped roof.

  6. Form The Texture

    Let’s add some texture to the barn and silo! Now, draw evenly spaced vertical lines on the barn’s walls. Then, add curved vertical lines to the roof of the silo.

  7. Now Build A Fence

    First, draw thin upright rectangles. Then, add two long horizontal strips to draw the fence on the foreground.

  8. Then Add Grass

    Draw horizontal zigzag lines to add the grass around the farm.

    Let’s complete our farm drawing by adding some color! First, shade the walls of the barn and silo with a red crayon. Next, fill in the barn’s roof as well as the framing of its door and window with a white crayon. Shade the opening of the window with a dark brown crayon. Then, color the fence with an orange crayon. Finally, cover the grass with a green crayon and the sky with a light blue crayon.
