Hedgehog Drawing: All Steps

In today’s lesson, we will learn how to make a hedgehog drawing on paper. The shape and proportion of each of the drawn parts will be pointed out in each step of the lesson. Note that the blue outlines are used to show the new lines being drawn in each in each of the steps.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Outline The Head And Belly

    Outline the hedgehog’s head and belly by drawing the line as shown.

  2. Draw The Eyes And Nose

    Hedgehog Drawing: Step 2

    Draw a circle and a curved line for the eyes. Then, draw another curved line on the snout to form the nose.

  3. Attach The Ears

    Attach the hedgehog’s ears by drawing two pointed lines. Draw the visible inner ear by forming a triangle as shown.

  4. Draw The Quills

    Draw the thick layer of spines on the hedgehog’s back called quills by drawing a jagged outline as shown. Draw many shorter pointy lines inside to add more texture!

  5. Attach The Paws

    Let’s attach the hedgehog’s paws by making rounded shapes with two curved lines.

  6. Complete The Hedgehog Drawing

    Let’s add color to the hedgehog drawing! First, color the quill and nose with a dark brown crayon. Next, fill in the paws and inner part of the ear with a brown crayon. Then, shade the hedgehog’s body with a very light brown crayon. Finally, color the eyes with a black crayon then add some shine using a white crayon.
