In this tutorial, we will start with a new piece of paper and learn how to draw a baby elephant in 9 illustrative steps. It’s best if we notice the shape and size of each of the drawn parts of the baby elephant.
Time Needed: 30 minutes

First Draw The Eyes
First, create two shaded ovals to draw the elephant’s eyes.

Outline The Head
Next, outline the rounded shape of the elephant’s head.

Attach The Ears
Draw big curvy shapes on each side of the elephant’s head.

Form The Trunk Holding A Present
Form the elongated curved shape of the elephant’s trunk as shown. Next, draw a present by adding a square near the end of the trunk. Then, draw short lines along the trunk to give it some texture.

Add A Ribbon
First, draw two vertical lines and two horizontal lines on the present. Next, draw the center of the bow on top of the present by creating a small rounded shape. Then, form the sides of the bow by drawing bigger curved shapes on each side of the bow’s center as shown.

Outline The Body
Outline the oval shape of the elephant’s body.

Attach The Legs
Create the rectangular shape of the elephant’s legs attached to the bottom of its body. Next, add the toes on each leg by drawing curved shapes as shown.

Add The Tail
Draw two curved lines with a pointed shape at the tip attached to the elephant’s body.

Complete The Baby Elephant Drawing
Let’s first color the present with yellow and orange crayons. Next, use a pink crayon to shade the inner ears. Now, use a black crayon to color the tip of the tail. Then, use a white crayon to fill in the toes. Finally, shade the rest of the elephant’s body with a gray crayon.
