In this step by step lesson, we will discover how to draw a bat with basic drawing tools. Pay attention to the various sizes and shapes of each part of the bat. The new lines in each step is made of blue so you can identify the current components that you should be working on.

Draw The Face
Start by drawing two ovals for the eyes. Next, draw a small circle for the nose and two horizontal lines for the mouth.

Outline The Head
Outline an oval shape to draw the bat’s head.

Attach The Ears
Attach the pointy ears on both sides of the head.

Outline The Fur
Outline the bat’s fur by making a shape as shown.

Draw The Body
Draw the bat’s body and form the legs as shown.

Attach The Clawed Feet
Attach the clawed feet by making a rounded shape similar to the drawing.

Draw The Fingers
Draw the bat’s fingers by making the thin shape on both sides of the body.

Form The Wing Membrane
Form the wing membrane by drawing a line that is connected to the ends of the bat’s fingers.

Complete The Bat Drawing
Let’s complete the bat drawing by first coloring the bat’s wing membrane with a dark gray crayon. Next, shade the ears and nose with a pink crayon. Now, color the eyes with a black crayon and add some shine using a white crayon. Then, color the fluffy fur part with a very light pink crayon. Finally, color the rest of the bat with a gray crayon.
