How to Draw a Bobcat

In this lesson, we will begin with a blank piece of paper and learn how to draw a bobcat in no time. We will proportion out the shape and size of each of the drawn parts of the bobcat.
Time Needed: 30 minutes

Draw The Face
First, draw two shaded ovals for the eyes. Next, draw a small oval for the nose. Then, create two rounded shapes attached to both sides of the nose. Now, make a line curving upwards to form the bottom of the mouth.

Add The Ears
Add the bobcat’s ears by first making two triangular shapes. Next, form a pointed line on each ear as shown.

Outline The Head
Outline the furry shape of the bobcat’s head.

Draw The Fur Pattern On Its Face
First, draw the fur pattern on the bobcat’s cheeks by making pointy horizontal lines connected to the nose. Next, outline the fur pattern around its eyes by making a pointy rounded shape as shown.

Outline The Body
Outline the fluffy shape of the bobcat’s body by drawing an elongated shape. Add some zigzag to the bottom part of the body to emphasize the bobcat’s fur.

Add The Legs
Add the bobcat’s legs attached to its body. Then, form he paws by drawing a horizontal line and two curved lines on the bottom of each leg.

Draw The Underbelly
Draw the fuzzy shape of the bobcat’s underbelly by making a jagged horizontal line.

Attach The Tail
Attach the short elongated shape of the bobcat’s tail to its body.

Complete The Bobcat Drawing
Let’s give life to our drawing of a bobcat! First, use a very light brown crayon to color the underbelly, paws, ears, eyes, and bottom part of the face. Next, use a pink crayon to shade the nose. Then, use a dark brown crayon to fill in the tip of the tail and tip of the ears. Now, fill in the rest of the bobcat’s body with a brown crayon. Finally, draw a spotted pattern on the bobcat’s fur using a darker brown crayon as shown.
