How to Draw a Brontosaurus

In this beginner’s lesson, we will discover how to draw a brontosaurus with basic drawing tools. Be sure to observe the different sizes and shapes of each part of the brontosaurus. The new lines in each step is drawn in blue so you can identify the current elements that you will be drawing.

Outline The Head
Draw a curved line to outline the brontosaurus’ head.

Add The Face
Draw two shaded dots to form the brontosaurus’ eyes. Next, create a pointed line to draw the mouth.

Form The Body And Tail
Start by drawing the brontosaurus’ long curving neck. Next, outline its oval body. Then, draw the long pointy tail at the end as shown.

Attach The Legs
Form the brontosaurus’ thick and short legs below its body.

Outline The Underside
Outline the underside of the brontosaurus by drawing two lines following the shape of the dinosaur as shown.

Complete The Brontosaurus Drawing
Now, let’s add some color to the brontosaurus. First, use a red crayon to color the inside of the brontosaurus’ mouth. Next, shade the underside of the brontosaurus using a light blue crayon. Then, fill in the rest of the brontosaurus using a blue crayon.
