Materials

- Drawing Paper

This lesson will teach you how to draw a cake. We will pay attention to the shapes of each area and variety of contours drawn ensuring that the drawing looks great.
Time Needed: 20 minutes

Draw The Cake’s Bottom Layer
Start forming the bottom layer of the cake by drawing a wide oval.

Add Thickness
Add thickness to the bottom layer of the cake by drawing a U-shaped line.

Draw The Cake’s Top Layer
Add the top layer of the cake by drawing a smaller oval.

Attach To Bottom Layer
Attach the top layer of the cake to the center as shown.

Draw The Plate
Draw two ovals on the bottom to create the plate for the cake. Erase parts of the plate that overlap with the cake.

Add The Candles
Add three candles on top of the cake by making three rectangles. Also, draw diagonal lines on the candles.

Draw The Flame
Draw the flame on top of the candles like in the illustration.

Make The Icing
Create a squiggly line on both the top and bottom layers of the cake.

Complete The Cake Drawing
To complete the cake illustration, color the icing part of the cake with a chocolate-like brown crayon. Next, color the candles with a blue crayon and the flame with an orange crayon. Then, shade the cake layers with an orange crayon. Lastly, fill in the plate with a pink crayon.
