How to Draw a Cartoon Elephant

In this lesson, we will start off with a blank piece of paper and learn how to draw a cartoon elephant in 6 instructive steps. It’s best if we notice the shape and size of each of the drawn parts of the cartoon elephant.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Form The Head

   

   First, form the outline of the elephant’s head. Next, draw a small shaded circle for the eye.

2. Add The Trunk

   

   Create a curved shape attached to the elephant’s head to draw its trunk.

3. Attach The Ear

   

   Create a big curvy shape attached to the elephant’s head to draw its ear.

4. Form The Body And Tail

   

   First, create an oval shape to draw the body. To form the elephant’s tail, draw two curved lines with a pointed shape attached to the tip.

5. Add The Legs

   

   Form the boxy shape of the elephant’s legs attached to the bottom of its body. Then, create small curved lines at the very bottom of its legs to draw its toes.

6. Complete The Cartoon Elephant Drawing

   

   Let’s complete the cartoon elephant drawing by first coloring the toes with a white crayon. Next, shade the tip of its tail with a dark blue crayon. Then, fill in the rest of the elephant’s body with a blue crayon. You can also add shadows to some parts of the elephant’s body to create more depth in your drawing using a darker shade of blue.
