How to Draw a Cartoon Monkey

In this tutorial, we will start off with a new piece of paper and learn how to draw a cartoon monkey in 9 illustrative steps. It is best to observe the proportions of each of the drawn parts of the cartoon monkey.

Time Needed: 30 minutes

1. Draw The Face

   

   First, draw two ovals for the eyes. Next, form a small line curving downwards with two dots for the nose. Then, create a line curving upwards for the mouth.

2. Outline The Face

   

   Outline the monkey’s face by drawing the shape as shown.

3. Form The Head

   

   Form the monkey’s head by drawing a curved line with two pointy lines on top.

4. Attach The Ears

   

   Attach the monkey’s ears by drawing two curved lines on both sides of its head.

5. Form The Body

   

   Outline the monkey’s body by creating a curved shape. Next, draw an oval shape to form the monkey’s belly.

6. Attach The Arms

   

   Now, attach the monkey’s arms by drawing curved vertical shapes with a zigzag shape on the bottom. Next, draw the monkey’s hands connected to the bottom of the arms as shown.

7. Attach The Legs

   

   Next, attach the monkey’s legs by drawing a curved shape to both sides of its body. Then, draw the monkey’s feet attached to the bottom of the legs.

8. Draw The Tail

   

   Draw the curved shape monkey’s tail connected to its body as shown.

9. Complete The Cartoon Monkey Drawing

   

   To color our drawing of a monkey, use a light orange crayon for its face, belly, hands, feet and inner ears. Next, for its eyes, use a black crayon and add some shine using a white crayon. Then, use a brown crayon to shade the rest of the monkey’s body.
