Time Needed: 30 minutes
Form The Right Hull
First, let’s form the right hull of the catamaran by drawing a U-shape for the back of the hull. Draw the top of the hull by creating an elongated shape with a pointed tip. Then, draw a curved line from the tip to the curve of the U-shape to form the side of the hull.
Attach The Bottom Platform
Attach the bottom platform by drawing a rectangular box.
Add The Cabin
Add the cabin on top of the platform by first making a rectangle. Then, draw the sloped sides of the cabin by forming rectangular shapes attached to the platform.
Now Draw The Left Hull
Now, draw the left hull of the catamaran by making the same style of shape from the first step. Erase any parts of the hull that overlap with the platform.
Add The Mast
Add the mast by drawing a thin vertical cylinder.
Draw The Boom
Draw the boom by creating a short horizontal cylinder attached to the mast.
Form The Sails
Form the mainsail by drawing a curved line on the left side of the mast connected to the boom. Next, add the jib by drawing a long diagonal line on the right of the mast. Attach the bottom of the jib to the mast with a curved line as shown.
Create The Waves
Create the waves in the water surrounding the catamaran using curved wavy lines. Don’t forget to draw the long horizontal line separating the water from the sky!
Complete The Catamaran Drawing
Let’s complete the catamaran drawing by first coloring the hulls with a green crayon. Shade the parts of the hulls beneath the surface of the water with a blue crayon as shown. Next, color the bottom platform and the cabin with a light brown crayon. Now, fill in the mast and the boom with a gray crayon. Use a yellow crayon to shade the mainsail and an orange crayon to color the jib. Finally, color the sky with a light blue crayon and the body of water with a darker shade of blue.
