Materials

The goal is to complete a drawing of a ceratosaurus by drawing one section at a time. It will take 9 steps to complete as we continue to make each area which will get us closer to the finished drawing. The finished artwork will be perfected with color making it a drawing you will want to share with friends!
Time Needed: 30 minutes

Outline The Head
Start by outlining the elongated shape of the ceratosaurus’ head. Form the V-shaped opening of its mouth.

Form The Body And Tail
Now, draw the rounded shape of its body. Then, attach the long pointed shape of its tail.

Add The Face
First, draw a small circle for its eye. Now, create a dot for its nostril. Next, add its sharp teeth by drawing zigzag lines inside its mouth.

Attach The Horns
Attach the horns on top of its forehead and snout by forming triangular shapes.

Draw The Legs
Draw the shape of the predator’s long legs. Then, form sharp claws at the bottom of its legs.

Add The Arms
Form the ceratosaurus’ short arms attached to its torso.

Outline The Underbelly
Outline its underbelly by drawing a line following the shape of its body as shown.

Add The Spines
Draw small V-shaped lines along the dinosaur’s body and tail to form its spines.

Complete The Ceratosaurus Drawing
Let’s complete the ceratosaurus drawing by adding color! First, fill the eye with a black crayon. Next, shade its horns and spines using a yellow crayon. Now, color the underbelly and teeth with a cream colored crayon. Then, use a red crayon to shade the ceratosaurus’ body. Finally, add striped patterns on the dinosaur’s body with a darker shade of red.
