This tutorial will teach you how to draw a chicken coop. We will pay attention to the shapes of each area and variety of outlines drawn making sure that the artwork looks right.
Time Needed: 30 minutes
Form The Roof
Form a diagonal rectangle to draw the roof of the chicken coop.
Outline The Walls
Outline the rectangular walls.
Add The Ramp
Add the thin diagonal ramp at the base of the chicken coop.
Draw The Doorway
Draw the rectangular shape of the doorway. Next, add a vertical line on the doorway to draw the inner side of the wall. Then, add hay visible from the doorway.
Form The Window
Draw the rectangular shape of the window. Then, outline the chicken net on the window by drawing vertical and horizontal lines.
Attach The Floor Posts
Attach small upright rectangles below the walls of the chicken coop to draw the floor posts.
Form The Chicken’s Body
Now, let’s draw a chicken near the chicken coop! First, outline the shape of the chicken’s body. Draw a shaded circle for its eye. Next, form its pointed beak. Now, draw its wattle dangling below its beak. Then, attach the bumpy shape of its comb on top of its head.
Attach The Legs And Tail
Attach the chicken’s thin legs below its body. Now, form its long feathery tail.
Complete The Chicken Coop Drawing
Grab your crayons and let’s start coloring our drawing of a chicken coop! First, fill in the roof with a green crayon. Now, color the walls of the chicken coop with an orange crayon. Fill in the inside of the coop visible from the doorway and window with a dark gray crayon. Now, color the hay with a yellow crayon. Shade the framing of the window with a light gray crayon. Then, color the ramp and floor posts with a brown crayon. Finally, color the chicken’s body with a white crayon, its beak and legs with an orange crayon, its tail with a gray crayon, and its comb and wattle with a red crayon.
