How to Draw a Chinchilla

In this post, we will discover how to draw a chinchilla with your drawing materials. Pay attention to the various sizes and shapes within the artwork of the chinchilla. The lines in each step is drawn in blue so you can plainly see the most recent parts that you should be creating.

Draw The Face
First, draw two ovals for the eyes. Next, draw a rounded triangular shape for the nose. Now, create a circle attached to both sides of the nose to form the snout. Then, draw a line curving upwards for the mouth.

Outline The Head
Outline the shape of the chinchilla’s head as shown.

Attach The Ears
Draw the chinchilla’s ears attached to the top of its head similar to the illustration.

Form The Body
Form the chinchilla’s body by drawing a rounded shape.

Draw The Limbs
Draw the limbs by making two elongated U-shaped lines.

Attach The Feet
Draw the chinchilla’s feet attached to the bottom of the limbs as shown.

Outline The Underbelly
Form the lining of the chinchilla’s underbelly by creating the short lines as shown. Make sure not to overlap the lines with the chinchilla’s limbs!

Add The Tail
Add the tail by drawing a bumpy curved shape attached to the chinchilla’s body.

Complete The Chinchilla Drawing
Let’s complete the chinchilla drawing by adding some color to it! First, use a pink crayon to color the feet, nose, and inner part of the ears. Next, use a white crayon to color the chinchilla’s snout and underbelly. Then, use a black crayon to shade its eyes. Finally, use a purple crayon to color the rest of the chinchilla’s body.
