In today’s post, we are going to learn how to draw a cupcake on paper. The design and proportion of each part will be pointed out in each step of the lesson. Take notice that the blue pencil lines are used to show the current shapes being drawn in each in each of the steps.

Draw The Bottom Of The Wrapper
Start by drawing a horizontal line to create the bottom of the cupcake wrapper.

Outline The Sides
Outline the sides of the cupcake by making a diagonal line on both ends as shown.

Draw The Edge Of The Wrapper
Draw the edge of the cupcake wrapper by creating a horizontal zigzag line.

Add The Wrapper’s Lining
Add the lining of the wrapper by drawing evenly spaced lines as shown.

Outline The Frosting
Outline the frosting of the cupcake by drawing a bumpy triangular shape.

Draw The Top Part Of The Cake
Draw the top part of the cake peeking between the frosting and the edge of the wrapper.

Put A Cherry On Top
Put a cherry on top of the cupcake by drawing a circular shape.

Form The Frosting’s Shape
Form the shape of the frosting by making wavy lines across the frosting.

Complete The Cupcake Drawing
Let’s finish the cupcake drawing by coloring the wrapper with a blue crayon. Next, color the cake part with a brown crayon. Then, use a mix of yellow and orange crayons for the frosting. Lastly, shade the cherry on top with a red crayon.
