In this step by step lesson, we will learn how to draw a cute elephant with basic drawing tools. Pay attention to the different sizes and shapes of each part of the cute elephant. The lines in each step is drawn in blue so you can see the current components that you should be working on.

Draw The Eyes
Create two shaded ovals to draw the elephant’s eyes.

Outline The Head
Outline the rounded shape of the elephant’s head.

Attach The Trunk
Attach the curved shape of the elephant’s trunk to the bottom of its head. Then, draw short lines along the trunk to add some texture to it.

Form A Smile
Let’s give the elephant the cutest smile by drawing a line curving upwards. Create small curved lines on each side of the smile as shown.

Attach The Ears
Form the big curvy shape of the elephant’s ears attached to both sides of its head.

Draw The Forelegs
Draw two rectangular shapes connected to the bottom of the head to form the elephant’s forelegs. Don’t forget to add the toes by creating curved shapes at the end of each leg.

Add The Hind Legs
First, create two ovals. Next, draw two lines connecting the ovals to the forelegs as shown. Then, add the toes by drawing curved shapes attached to the ovals.

Form The Tail
Draw two curved lines with a pointed shape at the end to form the elephant’s tail.

Complete The Cute Elephant Drawing
Let’s first color the base of its hind legs and its inner ears with a pink crayon. Next, use a dark blue crayon to shade the tip of its tail. Now, use a gray crayon to color the toes. Then, fill in the rest of the elephant’s body with a blue crayon.
